Tons of Respect and No Jokes

Memorial Day is one of my fav holidays.

Yes … this Monday in May has come to be the “official start of Summer” and it’s a perfectly lovely 3-day weekend each year. And all that is totally cool.

It’s also a GREAT time to remember just how good we have it.

The struggles and rough spots we have today are nothing compared to crap that our ancestors had to deal with. And we live in a technological golden age that let’s us make a living online … some of us by running eCommerce sites, some of us by standing-up servers and infrastructure … or like me, by supporting eCommerce merchants and fixing Shopify sites while writing irreverent newsletters and joking about it all.

But each year I am mindful that the reason things are the way they are is because a lot of folks served the country and causes that keep us free. Those sacrifices created and defended the wondrous environment of freedom and business-building that we operate in. And that’s no joke.

So, here’s to all those who have fought those fights and sacrificed. And here’s to their families. And here’s to the freedoms they defended.
