Selling Millennials, Jeff Bezos Selling Pot, and more. 🔥

Heya -

Hello again everyone! Guess what happened in the Midwest this weekend. It didn’t snow. Seriously, it’s snowed every weekend for the last six weeks. We’ve been surfing the internet and downloading pictures of sunny places … sort of like weather porn. This weekend we actually saw the real-live sun.

It’s the little things in life that make you happy. Our list includes bowling over 200, Husky puppies, Michigan State winning a basketball game, sunny days, and our Tuesday email blast. So let’s get happy … here are this week’s top stories.

But in reality, most of the action is in shops targeting micro-markets selling every beauty product imaginable. In fact, Shopify is creating an online video series through their Shopify Studios division focused on these small online beauty businesses. Check it out.

4. Can You See the Real Me, Can Ya?

Speaking of beauty, Brianna Wiest writes an article for Forbes about the current state of consumer product and digital marketing. She gets a little wordy, but the point is finding ways to tell stories that add value. Value can be entertainment, education, self-improvement, or a combination therein. She goes on to suggest that people are buying a “better version of themselves.” She makes some interesting points about messaging and marketing.

5. Selling to Millenials

If your target market is millennials – aged 25 to 37 – you should talk to them differently. Keith Richie is Senior Director of Marketing for LinkedIn Marketing, and he has a thing or two to say about it.
