Did you hear the Big News Coming From Shopify? It’s Important Stuff ... eBay!

Shopify is on a HUGE roll right now with new updates and integrations. They just announced another one. Here's all the info and why it’s important.

Shopify Adds eBay Sales Channel and Proves the Power of the Platform for eCommerce

Less than two weeks ago, Shopify stepped up the microphone and announced an important coming feature for the Shopify platform – eBay integration. We teased about this in last week’s email. Since then we have done a ton of research and got ourselves up to speed because we think that this is REALLY important.

The first thing that you need to know is that, if you are on the Shopify eCommerce platform, you chose the RIGHT platform to build your business on. Note that I didn’t say the right “eCommerce website” or the right “shopping cart” for your business. I said the right “platform.”

The folks at Shopify say it best on their website: “Whether you sell online, on social media, in store, or out of the trunk of your car, Shopify has you covered.”

Those twenty-one words mean that the leaders at Shopify get it. They KNOW that we don’t really care “where” our products and services sell. The lesson of the internet age is NOT that “everything is online.” The true lesson of the internet is that

it no longer matters

where,

what, or how anything is at all.

You can live on an iceberg in Antarctica and sell bacon to a guy living in New York City that’s paid for in Pesos and delivered from a warehouse in Mexico to a guy in Germany.

And that bacon transaction can “take place” in a physical store or on the guy’s cell phone … or on his PC … or his iPad … or …? Things like physical stores and eCommerce websites and Amazon and eBay and social media …

they’re all just points of access and connection.

This is what makes the eBay announcement so important. The platform … your platform … just got bigger. A LOT bigger.
