Hello - 

There are a lot of people hurting and heartbroken right now. There is a lot of fear and anger. Everyone is trying to process how they feel about everything. While I don't have any solutions for any of it. I do believe it starts with loving each other. It starts with listening to each other. It starts with supporting each other.

And as a part of the Shopify community, we were glad to see that Shopify is paying attention — which moves them up to the top position in our weekly rundown of the news.

Shopify and CEO Tobi Lütke announced on Twitter that they are donating up to $1 million to organizations that are trying to make things better. And we think that’s worth knowing about.

Let’s be honest here … we all have a love/hate relationship with pop-ups. But if you use the right pop-up that enhances the experience for the right shopper there are few things more effective for getting subscriptions, conversions, and fixing cart abandonment issues. And the team at Privy just wrote a VERY helpful blog post that covers what you need to know.

Shopify is famous for its payment gateway. And they have just inked a partnership deal with cryptocurrency processor CoinPayments to let merchants accept 300 types of the mysterious moolah. So, are your customers going to forgo making a $20 online purchase in lieu of paying with 0.002 of a Bitcoin minus fees? You don’t have to worry about it because the service automatically pays you in cold hard government currency.

As promised, we are going to keep the shipping info flowing as much as possible because shipping sucks. And a few days ago there was an article on the ShopifyPlus blog discussing the trials and tribulations of damaged and stolen packages.
